News events thus far is that the Institute have decided during the Institute Council
meeting held in May 2006 to fulfil the role of “provider” in future and not to pursue
the role of an ETQA anymore. Therefore the Education Committee is in the process
to continue with our application to the Department of Education to be registered
as a provider on the higher education training band
NB The "SAESI Student of the Year" award for the 2005 academic year was won by Mr. SP Jordaan of the City of Cape Town Fire & Rescue Services. Congratulations to him. Rest of the prize winners are listed on the Awards & Prizes page. The Education Committee is also in the process of submitting articles to be placed on the website and magazine with subject information that can be useful to students. Please have a regular look under the assistance page as the first two documents to assist students are already placed there, nl: 1.
