CENTRUM GUARDIAN PROJECT

COULD YOUR STATION DO WITH R30,000?

Dear Station Commander,

At Centrum we believe the true guardians of society are emergency workers like you guys who give 100% of themselves to help others. The Centrum Guardian Project wants to acknowledge and reward those brave men and women who have gone far beyond the call of duty to save a life.

It all began with our pilot project in 2008 that proved to be a great success, with the general public showing their gratitude to the EMS via sms, the internet and on TV. It was then that we decided to roll out a national 2008 Centrum Guardian Project.

This year we are once again giving away handsome cash prizes, including R10,000 for the winning team or R5,000 if the winner is an individual, and R30,000 for the winning station to spend as they please.

The Guardian Project prides itself on exposing the life and death world of the EMS to every day South Africans, who don’t always understand the demands of such a stressful job. But we have learned from the previous projects that getting people from the EMS to nominate is the hardest part of the process, as a lot of them are very humble about what they do.

By encouraging your guys to nominate an individual or a team for an extraordinary act of bravery during the past 2 years, you stand the chance of winning those great prizes. Every nomination submitted is a step towards educating the public about your demanding profession. To make things easy, we have given you some posters, nomination forms, brochures and pens to help spread the word amongst your guys.
